Participants Ask for Another “Living the Practice” Program

An attentive group of ten practitioners began the two-month “Living the Practice” program offered by DRBU Extension on October 15, 2016, the start of the seven-day Fall Guan Yin Retreat.

The program included a rigorous daily schedule of Dharma study, meditation, participation in ceremonies, and community service. In the words of one participant, “I realized that it is not what happens to me, but how I respond to the situation that is the most important thing. . . . THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to the success of this excellent program: monks and nuns, professors, staff, graduate students and fellow classmates. They made the Buddha’s teachings accessible and engaging.”

A number of participants expressed interest in learning more about DRBU Degree programs, as well as in participating in another “Living the Practice” program. DRBU Extension will be offering another “Living the Practice” program this spring: a three-week immersion program starting on March 11, 2017 (the start of the Spring Guan Yin retreat) and ending on April 1 (right before the 10,000 Buddhas Repentance starts). The program is open to both first-time attendees and experienced practitioners. Please visit or email for more information.
