Notice to DRBU Students
On June 30, 2007, the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education and the Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education Reform Act, under which Dharma Realm Buddhist University (DRBU) had been approved to operate in the State of California, became inoperative.
Retroactive to July 1, 2007, DRBU entered into a voluntary agreement with the California Department of Consumer Affairs requiring that DRBU comply with California statutes, rules, and regulations pertaining to private postsecondary education. This means that, despite these recent changes in State educational legislation, DRBU continues to maintain its current approval to operate and grant degrees under California law.
This notice is to assure you that DRBU continues to operate as a degree-granting California State approved institution, and that degrees issued by DRBU continue to be recognized by the State of California. We expect that new legislation will be in place in the near future creating a new regulatory agency to oversee postsecondary institutions such as ours.
