Religion East & West
The Annual Journal of the Institute for World Religions

About Religion
East and West
Religion East & West,
the journal of the Institute for World Religions, is
published every October. It furthers the Institute's
mission of promoting knowledge about the world's religions
through the medium of interfaith understanding and trust.
The journal seeks to publish articles by authors who
are grounded in one or another of the great spiritual
traditions, and who are immersed in the scholarly investigation
of their own tradition and/or the traditions of others.
The journal champions
the ideal of scholar-practitioner. Its editorial board
believes that religious allegiance and immersion in
spiritual practice tends to deepen understanding of
religion, rather than clouding objective judgment. The
journal’s premise is that spiritual traditions
are best understood through participation and study
combined.
