In this workshop, we will explore the process of writing the biography of the Venerable Master Hsuan Hua using a multimedia online format. The course will help students develop sensitivity to multiple worldviews and viewpoints, leading to greater knowledge and appreciation of the Master’s life. We will experiment online on a secured website. In addition to using written materials, we can use the “wordless teachings” of photos, audio clips, videos, graphics, animé, and also charts and timelines. Class participation is required. Prerequisites: No special expertise is necessary; simply come with an enthusiastic and open mind.

This teaching workshop is designed for current and aspiring teachers. The course will focus on developing reflection techniques for teaching and learning and explore various aspects of teaching at a Buddhist school.
Participants will explore multiple teaching methods that enhance students’ academic, social and emotional development. Topics include cooperative learning, multiple intelligences, assessment, scaffolding, and critical thinking.
