In Buddhism, Guan Yin Bodhisattva symbolizes our inherent capacity for kindness and compassion towards all living beings. The name Guan Shi Yin means: “One who Contemplates the Sounds of the World.” This course is a one-week session of recitation, bowing, and meditation on Guan Yin Bodhisattva. Nightly lectures will be held to give students a chance to study Buddhist texts and ask questions pertaining to their spiritual practice.
Application deadline: July 2. Room + Board $125; additional fees apply for univeristy credit.


BSP 116 Dharma Study and Meditation Retreat at Buddha Root Farm in Oregon

This course is a week-long Dharma study and practice retreat in the tranquil woods of Buddha Root Farm, located near Reedsport, Oregon. Students will follow a daily schedule of meditation, Sutra study, and liturgies. There will be opportunities for service and shared community work. Participants should be in good physical health and comfortable with sleeping outdoors. 25 students maximum.
Application priority deadline: June 25; general deadline: July 2. Room + Board by donation; additional fees apply for university credit.
