Housing is available to all students at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas. The beautiful landscape at CTTB provides students an environment conducive to study and spiritual cultivation.
Students take their meals with the rest of the community in the Five Contemplations Dining Hall, centrally located on campus. No cooking is allowed in the residence halls. Additionally, Jyun Kang Restaurant is open six days a week [closed on Tuesdays] during lunch hours. In accordance with the principle of compassion toward all beings, all meals served on campus are vegetarian. Students with special dietary needs should notify the University during the application process.
Students at DRBU strive to develop their wisdom and compassion. To this end, students observe a vegetarian diet and a harmless way of life. The basic elements of this lifestyle are: not to kill, not to steal, not to engage in sexual misconduct, not to utter false speech, and not to take intoxicants. Since DRBU is located within a Buddhist monastery, clothing should be neat and modest. Men and women are also separated for most daily activities. These general guidelines create an atmosphere of support and harmony within the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas.
