Reverence and Remonstrance

Professor Henry Rosemont Jr. shares new interpretations on the Classic of Family Reverence [孝經] with teachers and school administrators at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas.

Henry Rosemont was George B. and Willma Reeves Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the Liberal Arts at St. Mary's College of Maryland and has been a visiting professor at Brown University and Trinity University. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Washington [1967] and pursued post-doctoral studies in linguistics at M.I.T. [1967-71]. He is the author of A Chinese Mirror [1991] and Rationality and Religious Experience [2001]. He has edited and/or translated eight other books, and has contributed over sixty articles and reviews to anthologies and scholarly journals. His latest book is The Chinese Classic of Family Reverence: A Philosophical Translation of the Xiaojing [2009].
