Work-Study

In the spirit of service and generosity, students at DRBU are encouraged to participate in DRBU-sponsored community work, which is organized on a weekly basis by Campus Life staff. Students applying for financial aid are required to apply for work study as a prerequisite for DRBU grants. This engagement engenders a sense of responsibility and relationship to the community and environment as well as an understanding that service and self-improvement are truly inseparable. Students learn valuable skills that they will be able to apply to the rest of their lives, in the process acquiring the character and virtue that is brought about by selfless service to a community.

Work-study at DRBU embodies the spirit of “learning by doing.”  New projects that are unfamiliar are simply opportunities to grow. In the spirit of service and generosity, students participate in community work where they develop valuable skills that they will be able to apply to the rest of their lives and acquire the character and virtue born from giving. This engagement also engenders a sense of responsibility and relationship to the community and environment. Service and self-improvement are truly inseparable.
